It is important to know that Muhammad’s message changed over time and the Quran style of writing, language, and even the tune changed.While in Mecca, Muhammad’s verses are calm, they are all like “… Hay dude, come join me. Allah is truth. Allah created everything. Come follow me, like Jesus and Abraham before. If you do not, that is cool. It is your loss but cool….” in all the first seven years, Muhammad could convert less than 150.When Muhammad migrated to Madina, failed to convert the big Jewish tribes – despite his best efforts. But he has built up an extensive army. In that time, the Quran tune changed completely to ” Muslims have to do this and that, don’t drink, do not mix with none believers… AND you kuffar are all bastards, either you convert or I will kill you and Allah will stick you like a kabab and fry you… etc”.These became known as Meccian verses and Madina verses. We have our own theory here. Muhammad in Mecca was relying on what he learned from his maternal uncle Waraqah Ibn Nawfal, a priest in Christianity and Judaism, to invent verses in the Quran. Waraqah’s approach was more peaceful and loving. But in Madina Muhammad was on his own and making up his own material. He was also very angry. And we can see that in the verses. The verses are longer. Muhammah has grown confident in his “verse inventing” skills. Islamic researchers noted how Mecca verses are very short, something just two or three words. Many Mecca verses got cancelled by process called Nassikh (نسخ). What changed between Mecca and Medina that Allah’s language and style of writing would change!!!Some will disagree, because they read the Quran and it sounds all the same. Firstly, you read the translations and secondly the Quran is not in chronological order. You need to read all the Meccan verses together then the Madina ones to see the difference. This difference is well documented in Islamic sources.Now guess:So when a Dawah come and tell you, Islam is peaceful…look this is a verse says “You have your religion and I have mine” tell him, isn’t this a Mecca verse? Eight of the girls became pregnant as a result of his abuse. There have been conflicting reports about the exact age range of the girls; the AP has reported they ranged from ages 11 to 14, while Reuters has reported a range of 12 to 16.Wirawan was initially sentenced to life in prison in February, but prosecutors filed an appeal for the teacher to be sentenced to death instead. Indonesian officials, including the country’s child protection minister, had also supported the death penalty for the teacher. The Bandung High Court agreed and issued its death penalty ruling on Monday.The case has received widespread coverage across Indonesia and has shined a spotlight on the need to protect children from sexual violence in the country’s religious boarding schools. Indonesia, the world’s biggest Muslim-majority country, has tens of thousands of Islamic boarding institutions and other religious schools. For many of Indonesia’s poorest families, these schools are the only way to provide for their children’s education, per Reuters.
“Islamophobia” as a word exists only to suppress the scrutiny islam rightfully deserves as any other bad idea before it.Any idea which asserts to have a totalitarian and absolute moral and intellectual framework should be heavily scrutinized. That’s the only way to distinguish a good idea from a bad idea.Islam as an totalitarian idea, has shown itself to be both morally and intellectually bankrupt through valid criticism of its divine scripture, actions of its prophet and application of its teachings by Muslim leaders throughout history.To begin, think about the following teachings:1) slavery is good (8:71)2) women are valued less than men (2:228)3) women are less intelligent than men (Bukhari 6:301)4) women MUST obey their husbands (Bukhari)5) men can beat their wives (4:34)6) LGBTQ shall be killed (Abu-Dawood 38:4447)7) non-muslims should be killed (9:29)Now think about whether or not you want the laws of society to reflect this ideology.Even if we grant the validity of the term “islamophobia”, I’d would strongly argue that a sincere fear of such an ideology replacing the laws of your current society is a very valid fear indeed. I don’t think it’s irrational (as the term “phobia” implies) to fear such an oppressive set of moral laws sweeping over society and undoing all the strong foundations of moral enlightenment values many successful societies have owed their moral and intellectual success to.Don’t let the fear of being labeled Islamophobic stop you from critically thinking about what would happen if the teachings of islam were adapted as law in your society (especially if you are a nonbeliever, LGBTQ+, or a woman).
